Why It’s Smart to Work Out if You Skateboard – Featuring Miha Horvat

Hey!
As you probably already know, I really like to skateboard, snowboard, wakeboard, and do everything connected to action sports, but the downside of these activities is the fact that your body takes quite a beating while you’re out enjoying yourself living the Sine Metu. After a few years I started noticing my knees tend to hurt, my ankles and wrists got weak, my shoulder is a bit rusty from the dislocation, and I’m generally a lot more prone to all types of injuries. Now because I’d really like to keep on doing all of these things I realized that I have to start taking care of my body, and get it in such a shape where I can do more stupid shit on the board and not worry about getting injured super quickly – and this is where Miha steps in. Miha Horvat is a personal trainer (you can see more about him below) and part of the Alfa Gym (where we train) team. I approached him a while ago, told him what I’d like to achieve and he started training me. We mostly train with just my own weight or some light weights, lots of exercises with TRX, getting strength in my core (strong core greatly reduces the chances of back injuries), agility in my legs and some all around durability and balance. I gotta say I’m really stoked about these sessions, and I feel  a lot more secure when I’m standing on a board.
To conclude, it’s important to get smart and keep your body in check if you’re doing any or all of these “destructive” sports and Miha deserves a big thanks for helping me out here! Be sure to hit him up if you also decide to train, he’ll be more than glad to help you out!

Miha is a personal trainer and a part of the Alfa Gym team. He puts a lot stress on training smart and is a really great motivator. The sessions are all about the good vibes, but that doesn’t mean he’ll cut you any slack, because he will get the maximum out of you for sure and if you need some nutrition advice, he’s got you covered as well.

Živjo!

Kot verjetno že veste zelo rad skejtam, bordam, wakeboardam in počnem vse povezano z ekstremnimi športi, a slaba stran teh aktivnosti je dejstvo, da medtem ko ti uživaš Sine Met stajl, tvoje telo precej trpi. Po nekaj letih sem opazil, da me hitro začnejo boleti kolena, zapestja in gležnji so šibkejši, moja rama je malce »zategnjena« od dislokacije in nasploh sem bolj nagnjen k hitrejšim poškodbam. Ampak ker si še naprej želim skejtat, bordat itd sem prišel do spoznanja, da enostavno moram začeti skrbeti za svoje telo in ga spraviti v dovolj dobro stanje, da lahko še naprej počnem bedarije na dilcah in mi ni treba skrbeti za to, da se takoj poškodujem, tu pa je v zgodbo vstopil Miha. Miha Horvat je osebni trener (več o njem spodaj) in del ekipe Alfa Gyma, kjer trenirava. Pred nekaj časa sem pristopil do njega in mu zaupal, kaj bi rad dosegel in začel me je trenirati. Večinoma trenirava z lastno težo, ali z lažjimi utežmi, delava veliko vaj z TRXem, pridobivava moč v jedru (močno jedro močno zmanjša možnosti poškodbe hrbetnice), eksplozivnost v nogah in pa splošno vzdržljivost ter ravnotežje. Moram reči, da sem zelo navdušen nad najinimi treningi in na skejtu se počutim dosti bolj sigurno.

Dobro se je spametovati in poskrbeti za svoje telo če se ukvarjaš z temi »destruktivnimi« športi in Miha si zasluži en velik hvala za njegovo pomoč! Če se odločite za začetek treniranja, pa ga lahko kontaktirate in vam bo z veseljem pomagal!

Miha je osebni trener in del Alfa Gym ekipe. Daje velik poudarek na treniranje z pametjo in je odličen motivator. Treningi so totalno good vibes, a to ne pomeni, da ti popušča saj si lahko prepričan, da bo iz tebe izvlekel maksimum, če pa rabiš kakšne nasvete v povezavi z prehrano ti z lahkoto svetuje.
