The Perfect Brunch Drink – Irish Coffee

So what could we consider the perfect brunch beverage? Orange juice, coffee, sparkling water, tea or something else? Well in my opinion Irish coffee takes the cake! A perfect mixture of coffee and alcohol – two beverages we enjoy socially in good company, and are sure to spark up some great conversations. A few days ago we’ve hosted a little brunch hangout for Nina’s birthday, of course I made my specialty – Irish coffee, and I figured I might as well share my recipe here, so you can enjoy it as well or even upgrade it and leave your suggestions in the comments below!

Ingredients:
35ml Jameson whiskey
90ml coffee
10ml demerara sugar
30ml lightly whipped cream
Vanilla pod
Nutmeg
Birtday
Method:
Mix 10ml of hot water with 10 ml of demerara sugar to create syrup
Pour the syrup into 35ml of Jameson whiskey
If you’re using a coffee machine use espresso shots but I use the toffee cream flavoured ground coffe (regular is fine as well) and pour 90ml in the glass over Jameson and syrup
Lightly whip (by hand) the cream and pour it over the coffee so it floats on top
Garnish the drink with a vanilla pod and dust with a grating of fresh nutmeg

There you have it – a perfect recipe for a drink that is to be enjoyed in good company!

Torej kaj lahko rečemo, da je prava pijača za brunch? Pomarančni sok, kava, mineralna voda, čaj ali kaj drugega? No, moje mnenje je, da zmaga Irska kava! Popolna mešanica kave in alkohola – dveh pijač, ki jih uživamo v dobri družbi in vedno zanetita zanimive pogovore. Pred nekaj dnevi sva z Nino gostila brunch druženje za njen rojstni dan in seveda sem napravil svojo specialiteto – Irsko kavo, in zakaj nebi tega recepta delil tudi tukaj, da ga v njem uživate še vi ali pa ga celo nadgradite in svoje pripombe zapišete v komentarje spodaj!

Sestavine:
35ml Jameson whiskey
90ml kave
10ml demerara sladkor
30ml rahlo stepene smetane
Strok vanilije
Muškatni orešček

Postopek:
Zmešaj 10 ml vroče vode z 10ml demerara sladkorja, da nastane sirup
Zlij nastali sirup v 35ml Jameson viskija
Če uporabljaš kavomat uporabi espresso shote, jaz sem uporabil mleto kavo z okusom toffee Kreme (tudi navadna je vredu) in zlij 90ml v kozarec z Jamesonom in sirupom
Rahlo stepi sladko smetano in jo zlij čez kavo
Dodaj strok vanilije in posuj z muškatnim oreščkom

Tu je – perfekten recept za pijačo, ki se uživa v dobri družbi!
