Budapest in 3 Days

Hello!
So last week was my birthday and my awesome girlfriend Nina surprised me with a plane ticket to Budapest and off we were for our little 3-day adventure. We’ve never been do Budapest before and we didn’t really have any plans on what to see or anything but luckily our Air Bnb host Laci greeted us at the apartment, gave us a few what-to-see tips and we were good to go. Our apartment was right in the center of Budapest, so we just started walking around, casually exploring the city and soon enough we were really impressed. I was positively surprised about the whole city, the people were extremely polite, they all talked English fluently, the Hungarian food was really amazing but the highlight of the city is definitely it’s architecture! There are so many styles all mixed up creating a magnificent sight, you would’ve thought that all these different building look kinda crazy together but that’s definitely not the case here.

First day:
We stuck to the “old-town” center, walking around Christmas markets (yeah it’s full on Christmas mode in Budapest already, lights, mulled vine and everything), enjoying some Hungarian street food and generally strolling about, taking it reaaaaaally easy, this was a vacation trip after all.

Second day:
Right after breakfast we strolled up the Avenue, passing all these amazing villas and eventually arriving to the magnificent Heroes square, checked out the park and the lake behind it and considered going ice-skating on the ring next to the lake. We took a pass on the ice-skating, stopped for lunch and headed back towards Danube river to check out the Budvar palace. Now the Budvar palace is so damn glorious it’s frightening seeing it from below but after you get up there the view over the city is just amazing. After that it was just some random exploring and back to the apartment.

Where we stayed:
We found this amazing apartment on Air BnB and it was perfect. It was spacious, high ceilings, nice bathroom, had a fireplace and our host Laci was really friendly. The flat was situated next to the Avenue, so everything you need to see in the city is at a walking distance. Conclusion: we’d stay here again without a doubt.

Where we ate:
Just a few steps down the street from our apartment we had this little awesome place called Avenue café and when it comes to breakfasts this is the place to go to. Everything is made fresh, the staff is really nice and the design is great so that’s a full package. Nina rated it Instagram-friendly so there’s also that haha 😀

Conclusion:
The only regret I have is that we didn’t stay longer. We’ll definitely be back here and take more time to see the city in-depth as I believe it still has a ton to offer! All things considered Budapest is a great city for quick getaway!

Kje sva stanovala:

Kje sva jedla:
